Lead a thriving church community in the heart of Brisbane City.

Gateway Baptist Church is seeking a warm, team-oriented leader to serve as the City Campus Pastor. Based in Brisbane’s CBD, this full-time role is responsible for the pastoral and strategic leadership of the Gateway City congregation, leading the local staff team, and guiding the growth and development of campus ministries all while working in alignment with Gateway’s multi campus vision and strategy.

In this role, you will play a key part in fostering a strong pastoral culture, delivering Sunday worship services, and caring for individuals and families across the life of the church.

Key responsibilities:

• Provide pastoral and spiritual leadership for the Gateway City congregation

• Oversee the pastoral care and key life events of the congregation (dedications, baptisms, weddings, funerals)

• Lead the delivery and development of Sunday worship services

• Manage and develop the City campus staff team and key volunteer leaders

• Shape and implement local ministry strategies aligned with Gateway’s mission and vision

• Preach regularly as part of Gateway’s teaching team

• Foster community engagement and partnerships in the city

• Oversee campus budgets, safety, and ministry compliance in collaboration with central teams

About you:

You’re an experienced pastoral leader who carries a genuine love for the local church and a strong foundation in biblical teaching and pastoral care. You have completed your theological studies and are, ideally, a Registered Pastor with Queensland Baptists. You’re organised and collaborative, able to lead a team while sitting confidently under the direction of the Lead Campus Pastor and Senior Pastor. You’re excited to see lives transformed by the gospel and are ready to serve faithfully in a key role within Gateway’s staff team.
